Depth Micrometers
Depth micrometers are precision measuring tools used to gauge depths when extreme accuracy is required. They are suitable for measuring holes, bores, slots, and even distances among those parts that are difficult to reach with other instruments. At large, they can be classified according to the measuring system; more specifically, there are analog, digital, mechanical, and Vernier gauges. Analog depth gauges use a traditional dial and needle indicator system to show the measurement. In a digital type, the result is shown on a digital display. The mechanical ones use a ratchet to move the spindle, and measuring is performed like in standard micrometers. The Vernier types are substantially modified Vernier calipers that also ensure high precision.
Typically, depth micrometers consist of a flat base connected to the micrometer sleeve which, in turn, houses the measurement rod. Also, the sleeve features a ratchet, a scale, and a calibration system. Usually, such tools come with a set of measurement rods to cover various cases. These devices are classified following the SAE and metric standards. In our online store, a large choice of premium depth micrometers is available including all the abovementioned types. These products are built to perfection by top-ranked companies to deliver accuracy and reliability for years to come.
