A dispensing gun (or applicator) as a tool can be used for putting labels on goods at retail stores but most commonly, it is used for caulking or sealing seams or joints with some form of adhesive, and also filling gaps in buildings and structures to insulate them form air, water, insects, or dust. Dispensing gun can be manual or automatic, powered by a battery or compressed air. Manual pressure guns can be used for the dosing of one or two cartridges at once. Such cartridges may contain glue or silicone. Just push a blocking lever, pull a plunge back, cut off the closed end of a cartridge, attach a nozzle to the cartridge and then insert it into the gun.
By squeezing a trigger on a handle, you push a plunge down that squeezes glue or silicone from the cartridge just like a syringe. By regulating pressure on a trigger, you can adjust an amount of product pushed out from a cartridge. When you finish your work, don’t forget to block the end of a nozzle with a provided cap or screw, otherwise adhesive can solidify, and you may need to buy a new cartridge next time. If a more smooth and precise dispensing of construction adhesives and caulking materials is needed, consider acquiring a cordless, battery-powered unit.
