Back in the late 1800s, Lincoln Electric was established by John C. Lincoln. The first company’s product was an electric motor of his own design. In the early 1900s, the product line was expanded with battery chargers for electric vehicles. In 1909, Lincoln Electric made the first welding set and in 1911 they introduced the world's first portable welding machine with variable voltage for a single operator. In the 1940s, the new arc welding market segment was rapidly growing, and Lincoln arc welders gained great popularity.

Nowadays, Lincoln welders are chosen by numerous customers all over the world. The company produces plasma cutters and stick welders using its innovative, state-of-the-art technologies. Classic Lincoln Electric welders are also popular on the market thanks to their reliability, ease of use, and versatility. The workwear line includes Lincoln welding helmets and gloves. In 2013, the company received the “E-Star” Award and became one of two companies to earn this award more than once. The same year, Lincoln Canada became the first welding organization in the world to qualify for ISO50001 certification.
