Since 1979 MagLite flashlights have been equivalent with built-in-America quality. Released in 1984, the Mini AA flashlight became a new standard for personal size flashlights. In 3 years a smaller version of this flashlight, intended for industrial applications and medical use, was presented. A year after MagLite launched the Solitaire single AAA-Cell flashlight engineered for keychains and pouches. Mag Instrument has created worldwide demand for its products as well as tried to help other American companies to build the demand for their products while preserving American manufacturing jobs.
MagLite products are highly appraised for their premium quality and exceptional reliability. For instance, the MagLite and Mini MagLite flashlights, referred to 'A Work of Art That Works,' have been honored by the Museum of Applied Art in Germany and the Japan Institute of Design Promotion. Money and Fortune magazines placed the Mag Instrument products among the top hundred ones that 'America makes best.'
