Laying ceramic tiles, plastering, and some other operations require specialized tools known as notched trowels. These hand tools are designed to spread and arrange cement or adhesive used to attach tiles. The most common design features a rectangular steel blade with cuts on one or several sides and a handle to maneuver the tool.
