There are several types of paint booths. Cross-draft paint booths allow for sending air across something that is painted; it is the simplest and least expensive paint booth available on the market. Semi-downdraft paint booths work similar to the cross-draft ones, as air exits from their rear part. However, incoming air enters the booth through the vents in a ceiling. Side-draft paint booths let air come in through the ceiling and come out through the vents in side walls. Filtration units in these booths are usually located in the ceiling. Downdraft paint booths are known by their cleanliness – air enters through the ceiling, passes around the painted object, and comes out underneath it.
