Prevost was established in 1978 with the vision of developing an innovative, new style air coupling. The result was the world's first push button quick disconnect coupling. The product has become the connection of choice for air tools and hoses among professional mechanics and technicians throughout the world. A few years later Prevost developed a venting action push button quick disconnect coupling that became the first safety coupling to pass the ISO 4414 safety standard.

Prevost has incorporated an extensive series of tests that their products must pass prior to being released for production. Today these tests include: connect-disconnect cycle life, burst pressure, vibration, leak testing, and severe impact testing. Prevost also conducts comparative tests on the leading competitors' products to ensure that their products are the most reliable in the industry.
