Spade Drill Bits
A power drill is a centerpiece of every homeowner's toolbox. And all those around-the-house drilling jobs require a good collection of drill bits for different applications and materials. All too often, DIY and household tasks involve working with wood, which requires special bits like brad point drill bits, auger bits, and spade drill bits, also known as paddle bits. The last type allows for drilling large holes in wood, measuring up to 1-1/2 inches in diameter. A spade drill bit has a flat blade with a sharp tip that makes it easier for the operator to position, stabilize, and direct it through wood.
Spade bits typically have sharpened spurs for easier and neater penetration into wood fibers and ejecting waste slices of wood out of the hole. Some spade drill bits feature a guide screw tip instead of a flat center point. This type is called a 'self-feeding' bit and requires less effort but more control from the operator. A spade drill bit design ensures high speed and drilling force as well as effortless drilling with minimized slippage. No matter how tough the wood pieces that you need to bore through, we have the strong and lasting bits for quick, clean holes and a smoother, vibration-free drilling process.
