Whether you are a professional electrician or DIYer repairing some electronic appliances, you need to have the right instruments to do the job. Torq-set bits are proprietary screw drives which are utilized primarily whenever torque sensitivity is of the utmost importance. In general, their heads are somewhat similar to Phillips drives while having a four-arm cross. In these types of bits, however, the main lines are slightly offset from one another, without forming an intersection, so plain flat or Phillips drive bits won’t fit the Torq-Set heads. These fasteners are used primarily in aerospace and military enterprises.
Such aircraft as Bombardier, Embraer, and Airbus, not to mention the F-16, P-3 Orion, and E-3, all have components and systems which are assembled together utilizing fasteners with Torq-set heads. The patent and business name of this standard are owned by Phillips. Corresponding bits are made of durable grades of steel and chromium-vanadium alloys.
