Torx Keys

Easily recognizable by their star-shaped pattern, Torx bolts and screws are found in home appliances, automobiles, electronics, and lots of other equipment. If compared to another popular type, hex fasteners, the Torx standard allows for applying higher torque without damage to the fastener's head or drive tool. In order to install or unscrew a Torx, you will need a corresponding drive bit or key. The latter is available in several configurations that include L-shaped, T-handle, and folding keys, and each of them has its pros and cons.

L-shaped Torx keys are the most compact, but you may face some troubles caused by the lack of effort while unscrewing tight bolts with the tool's short side. T-handle keys are meant to eliminate such a downside, as their larger grips or loops provide a bigger lever and more convenience. Some of them even have an additional tip located on the grip.
