When it comes to single unit production, small series manufacturing, or reworking some metal or wooden parts, a manual or automatic milling machine is a highly beneficial tool. Unlike its more complex CNC counterparts widely used in different industries, a conventional mill is much more affordable, and the modern market offers lots of functional models to cover the needs of both professional millers and DIYers. There are three main kinds of milling machines including vertical, horizontal, and universal models that differ by spindle construction and orientation of cutting tools toward the table.
Vertical milling machines feature a vertical spindle and tools attached perpendicularly to the table with a secured workpiece.
