In 1944 the VIM Tools® Company acquired the brand name VIM Tools and the trademark VIM was adopted to identify the company's expanded line of proprietary specialty automotive tools. In 1946 the company incorporated in the state of California as the Durston Manufacturing Co. The company continued to grow and expand its product line. By 1959 having out grown the Pasadena facility, property was purchased in La Verne, California and a new larger facility was built. Over the years the plant was enlarged several times as was the product line which now includes over 600 products.
