A welding regulator is an essential component of gas welding equipment, which allows for adjusting the flow of gases to the necessary value. The gases fueling the welding process are stored in special cylinders, and the regulator is responsible for diminishing the outlet pressure in order to make it suitable for the job. Without this mechanism, the flow would be unstable, increasing the risks of auto-combustion and explosions. Besides, such instability would result in pressure fluctuations that would lower the quality of the bond.
There are two main types of such regulators, single- and two-stage ones. Their function is quite intuitive. An adjustable screw pushes a spring on a diaphragm, which opens the valve and lets gas out from the cylinder. When the pressure of gas becomes equal to the force exerted onto the diaphragm, it returns back and closes the valve. Commonly, the regulators come with two gauges, the high- and low-pressure one, which measure the inlet and so-called "delivery" pressure respectively. A safety device prevents excessive pressure from damaging the assembly. We offer a wide selection of first-rate welding regulators and related accessories including gauges, adapters, and nozzles.
