Extension cords and cables provide the most convenient way to deliver electricity to any electrical devices in your house, garage, and outdoors. There are plenty of extension cords and cables out there, and it is sometimes difficult to understand which one you should use. Mostly, people use one and the same cord for everything which is not always safe for the wires carrying the flow, the outlet, or the machine / device itself.
An extension cord is an insulated and flexible power wire that delivers electricity, with a plug on one end and an outlet or several outlets (their type usually coincides with that of the plug) on its other end. Extension cable is somewhat different from extension cord because it is thicker. Thus, what we find among industrial large gear can only be named a cable. Both extension cords and cables have minimum two wires: a positively charged wire for carrying the electric current and a neutrally charged wire that completes the loop. Also, there often is the third wire in a cord or cable which serves as a ground wire.
When choosing an extension cord or cable, the first factor you should consider is the environment where you need to use it, i. e., indoors or outdoors. All the cords and cables you purchase here have the corresponding script on them. Our outdoor extension cables have tougher and more durable jackets than indoor ones and can endure both heat and rainy weather. We carry insulating jackets made of vinyl, plastic, and rubber. Our variety of extension cord and cable lengths and gauges will not leave you indifferent as well. The extension cords and cables we stock vary from 12 to 100 feet in length.
As for the gauges, they are various too, both the gauge of a wire inside the cable and the gauge of extension cords and cables. Here you can find 12 feet 8 gauge jumper cables, 100 feet 12/3 gauge tri-tap plug and lock extension cords, 50 feet three-outlet power block extension cords, 25 feet 4 gauge 600 Amps plug-in booster cables, etc. Also, our customers will be happy to find convenient cable reels suitable for using outdoors whatever the weather, among them are 50 feet quad tap all weather extension cord reels, professional retractable cord reels, 50 feet power cord reels with tool tap, and much more.
