21-Piece Black/Gold Oxide Stubby Short Length Fractional Drill Bit Set with Metal Case by KnKut®. Premium grade short stubby length KnKut Drills are manufactured from a high grade Hi-Molybdendum high speed steel, that has high vanadium content. KnKut Performance Drills are salt nitride treated, actually penetrating the tools surface giving KnKut Drills the hardness to drill tough materials such as stainless steel and titanium alloy. The shortest standard length drill bits are screw-machine-length. Their shorter flute length and shorter overall length compared to a standard jobber length bit results in a more rigid drill bit, reducing deflection and breakage. KnKut short stubby length drill bits are perfect for use in right angle drills and for tight spaces.

Drill bits are not designed to enlarge existing holes. When force is exerted on the outer cutting lips (the weakest part of the drill bit), the tool will possibly chip and ultimately fail. Many users insist on drilling pilot holes prior to drilling the final desired hole size. Split point drill bits eliminate the need for pilot hole drilling. If the material does require a pilot hole, it is important to drill the smallest possible hole so that only the bit's chisel point engages the material. You will void your warranty if KnKut Drill Bits are used in this manner.
