29-Piece Black/Gold Oxide Length Step Point Drill Bit Set by KnKut®. KnKut USA Made Step Point drill bits combine a split tip point with a step drill design for accurate starting without the need of a center punch. This distinctive design reduces heat to increase the tool life of the drill bit and can be used to enlarge existing holes without damaging the drill bit point. The shorter Mechanics Length gives you a sturdier drill bit with 3-Flats on the shanks, sizes 3/16" and above, to help eliminate slippage in your chuck. KnKut Step Point Drill Bit is great for hard steel, brass, sheet metal and acrylics.

R.W. Thompson, Inc. warrants to distributors and industrial and commercial users of its products that each new product supplied shall be free from defects in material and workmanship. Drill bits are not designed to enlarge existing holes. When force is exerted on the outer cutting lips (the weakest part of the drill bit), the tool will possibly chip and ultimately fail. Many users insist on drilling pilot holes prior to drilling the final desired hole size. Split point drill bits eliminate the need for pilot hole drilling. If the material does require a pilot hole, it is important to drill the smallest possible hole so that only the bit's chisel point engages the material. You will void your warranty if KnKut Drill Bits are used in this manner.
