Starter Punches
Punches are widely used in many engineering applications. Several types are available, characterized by a construction which consists of a short metal rod with a tip variously shaped to perform different tasks. These tools are classified according to the shape of the tip or the purpose they serve. Starter punches are tapered tools with the end suitably designed to start the removal of a pin. They are driven with the help of ball peen hammers and are usually used in combination with pin punches that ultimately drive out the pin.
Such tools are largely used in the automotive environment whereas there are components held together by rivets or pins. Drift punches are the versions of starter punches: they are made of brass and utilized to drive exquisitely detailed components without damaging them. In some cases, drift punches can be used to align two holes to install a bolt. In our online store, a large choice of these tools is available, including the tapered and line-up ones; all of them are made to perfection to meet or exceed the existing standards.
